Adult Basic Education

The Adult Basic Education (ABE) program at Lindsey Hopkins Technical College is designed to expand educational opportunities for adults who need to strengthen their English literacy skills to support effective citizenship and meaningful employment. Instruction is tailored to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring a personalized and supportive learning experience.

The program is delivered through a combination of computer-based instruction and teacher-led stand-up classroom teaching to accommodate diverse learning styles. In the computer lab setting, students develop reading, language, and mathematics skills using a variety of instructional software and technology-based programs, while classroom instruction reinforces these skills through direct engagement and guided practice.
